Waldo Waldo 5K Downtown Info
The Waldo Waldo 5K is a Colorado Springs family friendly 5K walk & fun run fundraiser. This un-timed 5K is fun and unique event for people of all-abilities including many first time 5k’ers, families, corporate teams, military teams, firefighters, experienced wheelchair users and even community members who were deeply affected by the fires. New this year: the Waldo Waldo 5K is moving to Downtown Colorado Springs. Check out the route map to see the impacted areas.
Traffic in the areas around the route will be impacted Saturday morning, October 17 during the event, but we're working with the City of Colorado Springs to ensure our footprint is as small as possible, and the affected streets are opened as early as possible. (See the traffic control plan PDF.) We're working with the Downtown Partnership to keep the impact to downtown businesses minimal, while bringing in a ton of happy visitors to enjoy our beautiful downtown!
Downtown residents and businesses are encouraged to get involved and join in on the fun! Participating is, of course, a blast (and there are group discounts and corporate ticket sponsorship opportunities) but you can also volunteer, sponsor, or cheer on the runners and add some extra downtown excitement to the route!
This is a local, home-grown event. We partner with local businesses and work with local vendors as much as possible. The money raised is invested in local non-profits doing excellent work right here in Colorado Springs. Special thanks to elope, Inc., who as the presenting sponsor has made this event possible from the beginning.
